The U.S. typically experiences a more virulent cancel culture than Europe, mostly due to the more stringent labour laws and protections afforded to employees within the European Union. Worryingly though, the EU has become more woke over recent years, and we’re seeing the wokeness spreading to the individual EU countries. It’s only a matter of time before Europe becomes as notorious as the U.S. for cancellations.

The recent firing of Gina Carano makes a few things clear:

  • Lawyers need to insert verbiage into actors’ contracts, indemniying them from their character.
  • Producers and TV Networks need to do a better job of separating their fact from their fiction.
  • Producers need to reassure owners, patrons and shareholders, that the actors are artists, and that their personal opinions are nothing to do with the art.
  • Things have officially gone Crazy.

Peace and Love always,

Zhe Zher.
